The introduction of 3D technology has caused a big stir among major electronics manufacturers this year. Electronics leaders like Onkyo, Denon, Samsung and Pioneer are not taking their chances and have launched many equipment including blu-ray players, home theater receivers and Televisions that are 3d ready so that they grab a pie of the market share.

Onkyo and Pioneer are probably the first manufacturers with a host of new av receivers that are equipped to take advantage of the 3d technology. Onkyo released the TX-SR308, TX-SR508 and TX-SR608 receivers recently and Pioneer followed suit with the Pioneer VSX-1020-K and Pioneer VSX-1120-K.

They are are sensibly priced receivers but they all come with a rich and mouth-watering feature set. They all have the new HDMI version 1.4 capability that is required for 3D video playback.

The Pioneer receivers are network capable and have thousands of streaming internet radio stations online. 1080P upscaling is now the norm for these new generation receivers, so is capability to decode all the most up-to-date audio surround codecs such as Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD Master Audio and Dolby Pro Logic IIz.

They will also boost sound from your MP3 songs using the Advanced Sound Retriever (AIR) circuitry and are bluetooth capable, so that sound quality is almost like a CD. If your preference is for good sound as well as great image quality, these Pioneer receivers are a good choice.

The Onkyo receivers are unique in the sense that they have Audyssey DSX surround playback as well. Modern generation av receivers feature some sort of room correction methods to even out the frequency response of your listening room so that you do not get too boomy bass or shrieky highs.
